Monday Announcements and a last call for Call Committee candidates

Hello All - So much happening these days, a Monday email is in order. Please read below: - Today we are scheduled to serve at TACO but only have 4 people signed up, so if you're albe, please consider meeting at SVLC to carpool or meeting at First Lutheran (1420 Third Avenue) downtown, by 4:00. Also - if anyone is able to pick up Naemi Cunningham (who lives in the Paradise Hills/Lemon Grove area) so she serve as well, please reply or call the church office.  - Tomorrow at 1:00pm is the next review/discussion session for the ELCA  “Draft of a Social Statement on Women and Justice.” Meeting takes place at SVLC. - If you were not able to make yesterday's event, please attend the Reflections on Congregational Life and Ministry Event on Thursday, August 16 at 7pm. All are invited and encouraged to reflect on and express your priorities for Shepherd of the Valley’s mission and ministry going into the future. It's a fun and engaging event you will not want to miss! ...

Important SVLC Announcements

-  All are encouraged to attend the  Reflections on Congregational Life and Ministry Event : This Sunday, immediately after worship or Thursday, August 16 at 7pm. In preparation, we would like to ask you to think about how the church has helped your faith grow, what kind of events and opportunities have been most significant to you over the years, what you are looking for from the church in the future, not only for yourself, but for the larger La Mesa community.   - Are you interested in being on the Call Committee ? If so,  please reply to this email   (regardless of whether you have already spoken with someone on the Council or Transition Team) or call Pastor Karla  by Tuesday, Aug 14  so that your name may be considered. Please include a few words about why you feel you would be qualified to be part of this group. Not all who volunteer will be called to serve in this manner -- but there are always many other opportunities to shar...
